RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DIGANTA VIKAS INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE Class : VIII, IX, X & +2 Science All the students and parents/ Guardians are required to follow the following Rules and Regulations of the Institute :

  1. Hostel rooms are equipped with furniture and fittings or application. Students occupying the room will sign for receipt of items in inventory Register. He will be responsible to hand over the items in their original serviceable condition to hostel authorities while leaving the rooms on close of the academic session.
  2. In case of damage to any part of the hostel buildings, furniture, apparatus or other property of the institute / Hostel caused by inmates of the hostel, double the loss shall be recovered from the students identified as responsible for such damage, however, if the students causing damage cannot be identified, the cost of repairing/ replacement will be distributed equally amongst all the inmates of the room or hostel.
  3. The hostellers themselves are personally responsible to safeguard their belongings. They are advised not to keep large amount of cash or valuables like gold ring, costly wristwatch, calculators, cell phones, lap top, computers. In case of theft or loss of any item, the hostel authorities/ institute will not be responsible for such loss. The hostellers are advised to keep their rooms, boxes, suitcases, cupboards,etc., Securely locked with good quality locks.
  4. Students should lock their room properly when they go out for bath, food etc. they must keep the key of the door lock of the room with care.
  5. Hostellers are not allowed to keep any private electrical equipment and they can’t tamper any electrical fittings provided in hostel.
  6. It is mandatory for students residing in hostel to join the mess attached to the hostel. Hostellers are required to dine in the dining hall. No hosteller is permitted to take food in the room except for those reported sick with prior permission of hostel warden. Indoor cooking including making of tea/coffee in the rooms is strictly prohibited. The hostellers are not allowed to waste food, electricity & water.
  7. Smoking, gambling in any form such as playing cards consumption of Gutkha, Alcohol, use of drugs and narcotics and even possession of such things are prohibited. Anyone found indulging in the use of such thins will not only be asked to vacate the hostel but also be rusticated from the school.
  8. No student should keep any Fire-arms, lethal weapons, poisonous thins or intoxicants of any kind in the hostel. Students must not take law into their own hands, but must report any dispute to the hostel warden in-charge/warden first before consulting to the parents/ guardians. All kind of shouting, fighting, gambling, stealing, violent knocking, maltreating or abusing are strictly prohibited.
  9. Students can’t leave the campus without prior permission of the warden in-charge/warden. They shall have to apply in prescribed form in advance stating the reason for leaving and the address of the destination. Students who leave hostel without the permission from the concerned warden shall be deemed to be missing and parent/guardian may be intimated and they will be responsible for that.
  10. All students will report for the Roll Call every day as per prescribed timings.
  11. Parents/guardian/visitors can meet their wards in hostel with the permission of the hostel warden before 7.00 Pm no parent/guardian/visitor is allowed to stay in their room. Lady visitors are not allowed to visit students in their living rooms.
  12. The deposited course fee can’t be refunded at any circumstances and the pending amount of the total annual course fee must be paid by the parents/ guardian before the student leaving the institution at any time.
  13. Hostel inmates are supposed to take care of their health themselves. Student suffering from infectious disease has to leave the hostel with parents/ Guardians for medical treatment.
  14. In case of need hospitalization, student should inform his/her parents/guardian. Parents/guardian are required to communicate to concerned warden in-charge/warden in this regards and the parents/guardians must take the students for treatments.
  15. Institute will not be responsible for any injury to any of the body parts of the boarder or mishap during playing games, staying in the room, eating, class time, any celebration, picnic, excursion, outing, Sc. Exhibition, Participation or competitions, travelling. Institute will not bear the expense of the medical tratment of any student of the institute.
  16. Every student should stay in the room allotted to him/her. Mutual exchange of rooms after final allotment is not allowed. However, only the chief warden may allow as a special case on valid and reasonable ground Violation of this rule will be considered an act of gross misconduct and entail appropriate disciplinary action.
  17. Boarders must look up the hostel notice board regularly. The warden team member or any authorized member of the institute staff can inspect the room of any student in the hostel at any time. Hostel inmates are supposed to keep I-cards with them and must present the same to any hostel authority whenever asked for. Students must always carry their identity card with them.
  18. No notice will be displayed by hostel inmates in the institute/hostel notice board without the countersignature of hostel warden.
  19. Male students/ parents/guardians are strictly forbiddeb from entering the Girls’ hostel and female students from entering boys’ hostel.
  20. A student must not discuss aginst other students/teaching staff/non-teaching staff of the school.
  21. The study hours and dining hours as prescribed by the superintendent should strictly maintained.
  22. Parents are requested and and not permitted to give any fast-food or junk-food to their children. They can only give snacks to their children.
  23. While meeting their children, the parents should not give mobile to any other children for communication except their own child.
  24. All students have to wear uniform on all academic day. Any deviation will be seriously viewed.
  25. The students are required to wear the uniform during the academic hours Beyond academic hours they are required to wear gentle dress of aesthtic value. Students are not allowed to wear objectionable dresses.
  26. The local guardians should be above the age of 30. For the convenience of the parents institute will fix a particular day for the students for telephonic talk with their parents.
  27. Studnts are responsible for the safe-keeping of their own belongs. The Institute is not responsible for any kind of theft.
  28. All students must obey the covid protocol, use mask if suffering from cold. Students will arrange sanitizer,mask, phenyle, mosquito repel, common medicine for fever and cold from their own cost.
